Job Description

Objective

The Commissioning Engineer provides support to the Project Engineer, Project Manager and Superintendent. The support goals include construction sequence review, Startup and commissioning scheduling and management, communicating, organizing, implementing, and tracking project documentation on Ferrovial PLW waterworks projects.

Regular Job Duties

  • Collaborate with Project team in Project Plans and Specs Review, Phasing definition, value to maximize efficiency in the field operations.
  • Plant Process and Hydraulic profile Review
  • Temporary lines definition.
  • Review Water treatment process, mechanical-electrical drawings and Submittals.
  • Identify Startup and commissioning documents required by contract.
  • Project IPP developing and implantation.
  • Assist in ensuring that field tests are performed within project standards and specifications.
  • Provide support for project engineers and superintendents as required.
  • Vendor pre-startup check list and startup reports management.
  • Assist in maintaining all Project Logs
  • Startup remaining works developing and follow up.
  • Commissioning plan developing and follow up.
  • Disinfection plan developing and follow up.
  • Manufacturer schedule and management.
  • Equipment performance monitoring.
  • Training plan developing and implantation.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Operating and Maintenance Instructions, Procedure Manuals, Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders
  • Other unlisted duties will be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or something similar will also be considered
  • 1-2 years' experience in construction, commissioning projects preferred.
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating Primavera 3 and 6
  • Moderate to high level of proficiency operating MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
  • Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • A demonstrated ability to multitask, be a self-starter, and have a passion for construction and a job well done.
  • Significant and demonstrated experience in commissioning, construction, electrical and mechanical activities in the field.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and utilize Construction Math concepts.
  • Valid driver license for occasional, required travel.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram. form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
  • Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind.
  • Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
