Brief Description
The purpose of this position is to complete the final step in the Brazos River Authority (BRA) wastewater treatment process, which is to turn bio solids into compost for resale to the public. This is accomplished by operating and performing preventive maintenance on heavy equipment associated with composting operations. Responsibilities include routine equipment inspections; checking and adding fuel; cleaning filters; changing oil; replacing or repairing parts as necessary; lubricating equipment per manufacturers specifications; testing and documenting compost temperatures to determine process status; grinding brush, turning windrows as needed; and adding water into process rows necessary to achieve regulatory compliance. Other duties include miscellaneous grounds maintenance; cross training in all phases of water and wastewater operations and maintenance; and any other duties as assigned.

$23.42 to $29.36 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.
