Our Services division offers a service portfolio which includes maintenance services, process optimization, system upgrades and modifications throughout the material handling system's life cycle at customer's sites. The Contract Manager systematically and efficiently manages contract execution and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance.

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Support of the Service Team and Electrical Controls Engineer to minimize potential problems
  • Work with the Customer and site team during an Incident for Vanderlande supported material handling solutions
  • Able to diagnose, and rectify LLC and PLC faults within tight deadlines
  • Work to process and escalate as required
  • Write up incident summaries and provide reports as and when required
  • Involved in support and commissioning of Material Handling Projects at the site.
  • Work closely with clients and subcontractors
  • Communicate closely with other groups within Vanderlande Industries and project team (i.e., mechanical engineering, project management, supply chain, sales/proposal department and installation)
  • Work on quotation bids with the systems and sales department on new projects and/or on project changes
  • Monitor hardware and software performances
  • Solve problems
  • Maintain and archive releases, versions and updates
  • Assist in implementation of software updates and patches
  • First line support for the helpdesk
  • Learn new skills and stay current on latest technology
  • Initiate improvement actions

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in operating and maintaining material handling systems that contain conveyors, sorting systems, and shuttles
  • Knowledge and experience reading Motor Control Panel Prints as well as working knowledge of 24-volt DC, 120-volt AC and 480-volt AC circuits
  • Experiencewith WinCC and Webfactory software,Siemens Micro Master VFDs, Profibus communications
  • At least two (2) years' experience programming Siemens PLC S7 Controllers and formalized PLC training

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred skills in understanding and designing PLC programs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday day shift.

Travel:

This position requires no travel outside of any initial minimal offsite training.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment/physical requirements described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Although the Controls Engineers predominantly work in the office, they also spend time in the distribution center, where they sometimes handle packages or automatic equipment such as conveyor systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed the material handling system, mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The Controls Engineer will encounter mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Ear protection should be worn.

This is a full-time, exempt position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000.
