The HOLT Manufacturing facility in Waco, Texas has been configured to deliver fast turn-around on new product production while providing full customization as requested.
The facility, located on Texas Central Parkway, is the worksite for a range of fabricated products including HOLT Spray King water tanks, engine and generator packaging enclosures, oilfield engine skids, and a full line of land management tools such as root plows and root rakes.

The director of manufacturing position oversees the management of all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that approved products are manufactured on schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives.

Essential Functions:

  • Hire, develop, evaluate, and influence effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
  • Assists company officers and senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.
  • Develops the manufacturing plan and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
  • Achieves optimum employee levels with the least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet the annual budgetary plan.
  • Formulates and recommends manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing engineering, manufacturing processes, methods, tools, and/or equipment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of Holt Manufacturing.
  • Ability to effectively diagram and communicate technical concepts to all business units.
  • Ability to work on independently multiple projects and deal effectively with employees and management.
  • Computer skills and demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with external and internal customers alike.
  • Ability to use presentation skills in both small and large groups.
  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong management skills to direct, coach, and influence the team.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS in industrial, mechanical, or business administration, preferred, or a 4-year technical degree in a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer with multiple direct reports and a multi-layered hierarchy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position directs and manages the Engineering team, Production team, and the Op's accounting/supply chain management team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel:

  • This position requires up to 25% travel
