Job Summary

Are you passionate about crafting exceptional culinary experiences for customers? We are currently seeking a dynamic and innovative Catering Executive Chef to join our team at Baylor University in Waco, TX. The Executive Chef will lead the charge in delivering unparalleled dining experiences for our catering events. Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership

  • Spearhead the catering process from inception to flawless execution, collaborating closely with both internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure their culinary visions are realized.
  • Uphold and implement thorough culinary standards, ensuring adherence to recipes, outstanding food quality, and meticulous presentation for both catering events and retail dining programs.

Menu Development and Innovation:

  • Curate regular and innovative menu offerings that tantalize the taste buds and exceed expectations, catering to diverse preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Continuously explore and implement culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients to elevate the dining experience and keep our offerings fresh and exciting.

Team Training and Development:

  • Champion a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the culinary team through comprehensive training programs covering food preparation, equipment operation, food safety, and sanitation protocols.
  • Lead by example, encouraging and motivating kitchen staff to uphold the highest standards of culinary craftsmanship and professionalism.

Inventory Management and Compliance:

  • Maintain meticulous control over food and non-food inventory, ensuring efficient stock levels while adhering to established guidelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations, as well as departmental sanitation procedures, to uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Continuous Improvement and Adaptation:

  • Proactively identify opportunities for operational efficiency and culinary innovation, implementing strategic initiatives to enhance the overall dining experience and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Remain agile and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, seamlessly navigating challenges and fluctuations in demand while consistently delivering exceptional results.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • Three to five years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • Extensive catering experience a plus
  • High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
  • ServSafe certified - highly desirable
