PPG Architectural Coatings is looking for aProcess Engineer for the production facility based in Temple, Texas. You will support the plant engineering and maintenance functions of the facility and is a resource to the process control specialists of the other Architectural Coatings facilities.
You will work onsite and report to the Plant Manager.
Key Responsibilities
*Primary activities include information gathering through internal and external sources, purchasing, planning, and management of instrumentation and electrical projects, repairs, troubleshooting and guidance to other facilities programming and process control issues.
*Leadership role in safe operation of automated systems in the plant processes through development of operators and mechanics.
*Improve the plants automated programming to achieve safety goals, reduced cycle times and improved throughput and quality are main responsibilities of this position.
*Support plant PLC's, SCADA, Graphical Interface Systems and HMI screens, Robot's and other computers and applications which includes systems upgrades and preventive maintenance and some program writing and program modifications to incorporate process control improvements and other recommendations by plant engineering.
* Design, assembly, installation and debugging of process control panels and updating process control diagrams or other drawings.
*Involved in maintenance and support of main power feed and auxiliary power generation.
*Oversee maintenance and daily interaction with other departments in the absence of the Plant Engineer / Maintenance Supervisor.
*Coordination with contractors involving new equipment installations or other plant / equipment upgrades to ensure successful project completion, programing and integration outcomes.
Qualifications
*Associate's Degree or Technical Certification at minimum; Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Electrical Engineering or Safety Management preferred or equivalent related industrial experience.
*2+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment.
*Allen-Bradley process control technology or similar.
*Knowledge of National Electric Codes required.
*Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and consensus standards (OSHA, EPA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA), inspection procedures, audits, hazard reviews, incident prevention, incident investigation techniques, and safety and environmental education and training.
