This position is based in Temple, TX, which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute commute to Temple, TX.

Utilize quantitative and qualitative data analysis, process mapping, and process improvement strategies to identify and implement improvements in financial management reporting and other business processes and provide useful insights to business users at all levels of McLane Company.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:

  • Utilize process improvement strategies to:
    • Document As-is processes using data mapping and flow-charting
    • Identify and automate related data sources
    • Design future-state processes that bring efficiency and value to McLane Company
    • Project manage changes to existing processes that do not negatively impact day-to-day financial reporting needs.
  • Develop dynamic data models / projections within excel or other platforms to inform significant management decisions on major strategic decisions.
  • Learn, utilize, and champion adoption of data & analytic tools such as UiPath (robotic process automation), Alteryx (data analysis), and Tableau (data visualization) across McLane Company.
  • Assist in the financial model for current year and long-range forecasting:
    • Assist in preparing the annual budget.
      • Assist functional teams across the organization and serve as their financial lead.
    • Support all departments in expense control to include review and analysis.
    • Help in preparing monthly financial review packages for leadership, including insights on variances to budget, forecast and prior year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on accounting, economics, finance, or other area relevant to the role. Masters degree in business or related degree preferred.
  • CPA or CPA-in-progress preferred, but not required (if accounting background).
  • 2 years of accounting, finance or other business analysis experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong data & analytics skills (Alteryx, Tableau, Flowcharting, etc.) or be willing to learn quickly and independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines.

  • Work both independently and with multiple stakeholders across functions and levels.
