The Project Manager (Project Engineer) is responsible for developing and executing an asset management program for landside civil work projects, including a five-year major capital improvement program at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. This role involves developing project budgets, scopes, and schedules, and maintaining involvement in capital projects from design through construction. The Project Manager performs complex engineering and project management functions supporting the planning, design, and construction of various infrastructure elements under the supervision of the Director Landside Engineering.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Project planning and budgeting.
  • Project management best practices.
  • Standards, principles, methods, and practices for planning, designing, and operating landside airport facilities.
  • Federal, state, and local statutes and regulations governing civil infrastructure design, bidding, construction, and maintenance.
  • Airport projects and the airport environment at a medium-hub commercial service airport.
  • Analyze and interpret technical data, reports, specifications, and engineering and architectural plans.
  • Prepare, evaluate, monitor, and maintain complex operating and capital program budgets.
  • Plan, organize, and direct work on complex building infrastructure projects.
  • Create and meet project schedules and deadlines.
  • Managing civil construction and heavy maintenance projects.
  • Providing direction and oversight to consultants for design and construction administration.
  • Budget preparation for construction, engineering, and architectural services.
  • Managing landside bridge and tunnel inspection programs, roadway signs and lighting system improvements, and civil facility repairs and modifications.
  • Reviewing and approving tenant plans for facility development.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

Experience: 5+ years related experience in planning, designing, and constructing roadways, bridges, tunnels, land development, utilities, and other infrastructure elements at a commercial service airport the size and scope of RDU.

Licenses and/or Certifications: Licensed Professional Engineer desirable but not required.

Compensation Range:

$105,064.00 - $140,881.00
